“Music can change the world, because it can change people…”
With a gathering of over 50 of Hawaii’s top singers, dancers and musicians, ‘Rise Up’ will take audiences on an exciting musical journey through time, highlighting our nation’s many battles for peace and social justice as a reminder of how we must continue to “be the change” we want to see in the world.
Musical highlights will include excerpts from “Hamilton”, “Hair”, “Next to Normal” and “Tommy” as well as songs from John Lennon, Aretha Franklin, John Legend, Stephen Sondheim, Jamiroquai, Jerry Herman, Andra Day, MILCK, Delta Rae, Heart, Jennifer Lopez, and Katy Perry.
Proceeds of the concert will go to the Southern Poverty Law Center as well as to Weinberg Waimanalo Village, a transitional housing program for homeless families with minor-aged children here on Oahu.
Tickets for the 'Rise Up' concert are $35 and can be purchased by clicking on the white tab here. Join us as we raise our voices on June 17th!
Proceeds from our concert will go to support the Southern Poverty Law Center and Weinberg Village in Waimanalo. Donate to them directly today!
We Rise… because we still live in a country where all men are not created equal.
We Rise… because our brothers are still being gunned down based on the color of their skin.
We Rise… because our sisters are still being violated and told they are the ones who are at fault.
We Rise… because our children are still going to bed hungry at night.
We Rise… because our neighbors are still being told to “go home” even though this is the only home they have ever known.
We Rise… because our environment continues to be destroyed at a quickening pace.
We Rise… because our nation has never been more divided.
We Rise… because love is love is love.
We Rise… because our voice tells us to and we have no choice.
And so, we RISE.
